In the predawn hours the village sits
Nestled in the hills by the great water.
Light pours from the street lamps
And from shops and from houses
Reflecting life and its work and its purpose
On the surface of the ever moving river.
In each house and in each shop someone dreams
And someone is building a dream
Someone sleeps and someone else plies a craft
Before dawn and before dusk
Still the river is ever moving
