Description

Our County roads are given Alphabetic names in Missouri. This is a stretch of Missouri highway 94 just before the turnoff to Montgomery County highway B. The secondary highways are some of the finest drives in the United States and maybe anywhere. They are just the kind of roads a motorcyclist or a sports car driver dream of. They twist and turn through pristine forests and rolling farmland. Every so often, one comes into a little town with a tavern or a coffee shop that offer some of the best burgers and shakes around. An ice cold draft beer won't empty your wallet. The traveler can flirt with a waitress named Sheila or tell Nathan the bartender "The usual". Life is simpler here. We have good water and clean air and virtually no crime. We welcome everyone, but we know that this life is not for all. We are grateful for the quietude and the natural beauty. We may not have an ocean or big cities, but we do have a way of life that is pretty much incomparable. You would have to go to New England for a lobster fresh caught or Montana for oxygen starving heights. California and Florida have warm winters and the Pacific Northwest has dot.com billionaires. We do not have any of that. What we do have is a lower key version of paradise.

The sweep of the road and the green Missouri countryside make for an enjoyable drive and an equally enjoyable image to hang on your walls.
