My intention was to create a picture that utilized spot color in which the object retaining its color was black. I had reservations about using this image because I thought it was nothing special as a photo. Once the spot color was applied, I changed my mind.

I also appreciate that you were able to compose the shot without any modern-day distractions allowing your viewers to focus entirely on this gorgeous vintage auto. Can't quite tell what make this is. William, Fantastic photo of a real classic car, love taken photos of classic cars myself and this is a real winner. Remarkable detail love the white walls and the long running board that connects to both the front and rear well rounded fenders. Love the touch of this color on the black background. Great touch, and your description was very interesting love the opening lyrics to Black is Black used to have the record. Thanks very much John. I find that so many spot color photos, and I've done this myself, tend to choose something red or orange. Those colors really pop off of a monochrome background but they have become somewhat hackneyed to my eye. So that's why I chose this black on black subject. Thanks Kate, might be a 30 something Packard. When I looked at the original exposure I thought there were smears on the doors. In HDR, I can see that the "smears" are reflections.
