Description

Movin' On Down The Line is a typical scene here in North Central Missouri. Cedar fenceposts along a meadow and farm buildings in the distance. I feel so full of joy and gratitude to be able to wake up everyday and see scenes like this one just about anywhere I go. One of the most difficult things about being an artist in this area is worrying about the car when I keep stopping in the middle of the road to jump out to shoot another picture. Fortunately, there are few cars coming along. Rush hour here is when some farmer needs to move a tractor or a combine and a few vehicles backup behind it. Everyone waves to everyone else even if they have no idea who you are. Crime is virtually nonexistent. We have good water, good air and neighbors help each other in times of need. I moved here 20 years ago from Los Angeles. In the first six months that I lived here, I was invited to more people's homes than in all the years I lived in L.A. combined. A young couple can actually afford to buy a house here to raise a family. I probably shouldn't say all this or we will be flooded with newcomers... the truth is you all are more than welcome!
