Description
When I first moved here this was Pete's Fish Shack. When Pete went to that great honey hole in the sky, Dallas took it over and it became the Bait Shop. I liked the earlier name, especially when I stopped in to get some catfish for dinner. I have painted watercolors of this old building on the Hermann, Missouri riverfront several times. I cant count the number of times Ive photographed it. This is an unusual perspective that resulted from my decision to capture the active sky and the Missouri River bridge in the shot, but mostly from snooping around the building.

William, you have created a grand connection between this humble structure and the awesomeness of nature that surrounds it. Just love the repeated colors throughout the image and the details of passage of time on the shack. My favorite part of the image is looking in the window, through the shack, and seeing the tree on the other side. V/F
William Fields replied:
Thanks Ann! I love when someone actually looks at the work and sees the details. Really appreciate it!

Wow William! I love how you take the most unlikely of subjects - an old shack, a rusty vent and a concrete bridge and then by means of composition, and other magical jiggery pokery, turn them into works of art! I'm sure there's a dead body or two lying iside! Really love the clarity and mysterious mood V&F

William, Remarkable photograph with such fantastic details. The details that you have picked up in the building, The Fish Shack is amazing you can see every crack and knot in the shingles and wood. Great pick up on the water movement of the Missouri River, and an awesome sky shot with the Missouri River Bridge right in the background. Fantastic photo, voted, google, tweet, and FB promoted
William Fields replied:
Thanks very much John! You say so many nice things I hardly know how to respond.

My kind of place! This is just fantastic - great subject, great capture!
William Fields replied:
Thanks Norma, pretty sure you can still get some fresh catfish fillets on most days. The guy that owns the place runs trot lines.
