Description
Johnny O'Connor bought an automobile He took his sweetheart for a
Ride one Sunday. Johnny was togged up in his best Sunday Clothes
She nestled close to his side. Things went just dandy
till he got down the road. Then something happened to the
Old Machinery. That engine got his goat. Off went his hat
And coat. Everything needed repairs. He'd have to get under, get out and get under to fix his little machine. He was just dying to
Cuddle his queen. But every minute when he'd begin it,
He'd have to get under, get out and get under
From the song He'd Have to Get Under- Get Out and Get Under (to fix up his automobile) Performed by Bobby North. Words by Grant Clarke and Edgar Leslie Music by Maurice Abrahams.
The original of this image was less than satisfactory. There were weird lens flares and the exposure just wasn't very strong. I began playing with the processing and came up with a picture that is reminiscent of an old photo. The flares now look like darkroom handling issues such as light leaks and chemical problems. The picture itself is the Phoenix of the title.

William, I'd say you've successfully resurrected this one from the ashes! Processing is perfect for your subject matter and setting. I especially appreciate that there is so little "now" in the frame. Nice! voted
William Fields replied:
Thanks Cheri! Lucky to live in a picturesque place. The Concert Hall, the building with the Dutch Colonial facade is the oldest saloon West of the Mississippi.

Wonderful shot, I love the vintage feel to it. Sometimes what we do not like can be a blessing in disguise. v

Woo - nice! FV
William Fields replied:
Rhonda, I don't often get a "Woo". In fact, I think this might be the first one. Thanks very much. Woo back at ya!

When I first saw this, I knew it would be one of my very faves of yours and it still is, Bill. Excellent work and capture, f/v.

looking at your picture and waiting for Bonnie and Clayde to walk out of that bank...nicely done !! v/tweeted
William Fields replied:
Thanks Mario! If not for the ATM sign, the bank is definitely the right vintage.

William, What an opportune capture! So difficult to arrange to frame only those elements that provide such a story. Great with the song verse! voted
