Description
"Things Aren't Always What They Appear" is a line spoken by a character in the Emma Darcy romance novel, The Unpredictable Man. I have never read the book, but it was the only reference I could find to these words that I felt characterized my picture. The car which seems to be a 1949 or 1950 Ford is in fact, a 1994 Thunderbird that has been customized to look like its vintage cousin. It is a sort of rolling, three dimensional tromp l'oeil. I am pretty keen on identifying American built autos from the 30s, 40s and 50s. These were the most common cars around when I was a kid. When the owner of this vehicle told me what it was, I could have been knocked over with a feather. So you see, things are not always what they appear to be.
