How my body blooms from every vein
more fragrantly, since you appeard to me;
look, I walk slimmer now and straighter,

In ancient Greece the followers of Prometheus would participate in ritual festivals by going to the sacred altar and igniting a torch which would then be carried in a grueling foot race. The winner must not only get there first but he must also keep the sacred flame lit throughout.
