When I was shooting this young mother and her son, I was looking for images that reflected the modern problems of the working mother. Molly runs her own shop and keeps her son with her while she works. I expected to have images of her working and the child nearby playing. So much for expectations. When I got home and saw what I had the very first thing that came to mind was the title. I worked at this in processing to attempt to get an ancient looking picture that was reflective of the kinds of pictures painted by renaissance artists. The subject matter was already the kind of thing that they dealt with. I hope this does not offend anyone. I find the beauty of the subjects a perfect way to tell an age old story in a contemporary setting.
