The Culebra Range is a part of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. Sangre de Cristo means Blood of Christ and Culebra is a word for a serpent in literal terms. Idiomatically it is a seductive woman, a hussy, a jezebel. I was seduced by these mountains when I saw them and I continue to be. I am planning my next trip to the area in a month. There is a substantial amount of photo painting in this image. Although, my brush is a mouse and my canvas is a digital file.
