Artist's Description
Those familiar with my work will recognize the farm in this picture. It is one of those places that I keep going back to. The array of buildings on a slope in a hollow and the way the early morning light slips in over the tops of adjacent hills are a few of the reasons I keep returning to this Missouri farm. I like too the fact that the farm sits just about on the county line. It gives it a suggestion of being out in the hinterlands which in reality it is. The agrarian lifestyle is something that is dear to our hearts and rapidly assuming a place of honor in popular culture, at least among those who are trying to eat slower and obtain fresh ingredients locally. I personally advocate those ideals and see them as an extension of the support your local artist, craftsman, small business, etc. movement.
