At Worship Before the Temple
How does one capture an image? When I walked to this area of the museum, I realized that this lonely guard standing before an Egyptian temple was an interesting scene. I positioned myself nearby, but far enough away to be unobtrusive. As I studied the man's movements and gestures, I shot about a dozen images before getting the one I saw in my mind. There were, of course, several frames that were spoiled by museum visitors walking into the picture just as I clicked the shutter. But, finally, I got the pose and the shot I was hunting for. In his quiet contemplation of who knows what, the guard seems to be in prayer before the ancient structure. He was probably thinking about the World Cup...
