Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,

The road that goes ever on in this picture is the Katy Trail. The old Missouri-Kansas and Texas Railroad bed that crosses the State of Missouri from East to West has been recycled as a public park used for bicycling or hiking. The Missouri-Kansas and Texas Railroad was commonly referred to as "the K-T", which was its stock exchange symbol; this common designation soon evolved into "the Katy".
