In English there are three acceptable plurals for octopus; octopuses, octopi and octopodes. In Italian there is but one; polpo becomes polpi. These are marinated octopuses. Very tasty, if a bit chewy. The image attracted me as a still life because my mouth watered, because of the consistent color, the shapes and the accentuation of the tentacle suction cups.
