The Jewel Box is an art deco style greenhouse in Forest Park, Saint Louis, Missouri. The 7000 square foot building is 50 feet high, 55 feet wide and 144 feet long. It was built by the city of Saint Louis in 1936 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. In my treatment of this picture I have attempted to capture the quality of an old fashioned post card.

I try to put everything I have learned from every great teacher and through every mistake I have made into each and every piece with as much passion as I have for art and for life itself. Artists have been accused of being self aggrandizing, long winded, name droppers. I hate it when the critics get it right! William, Fantastic capture of this beautifully structured building in St. Louis. Nice job at capturing this photo as if it was an old fashioned post card you have succeeded. The foreground and background details and colors are great. The story line in the description box that you have provided adds to this photo. Fantastic capture, vote-67, FB and Google promoted

This photo reminds me that St Louis is a city I want to visit. I have been reading and hearing good things about it over the past several years, and would love to plan a long weekend there. BTW... Great shot!
William Fields replied:
Thanks very much MB. You must plan a trip. While you're at it, consider a side visit to my town, Hermann, Missouri. We have a population of 2700 and are surrounded by acres and acres of farm land. Within the town there are six wineries that are winning medals against California and European wines. We're sort of like Napa 50 years ago. Best of all, we're just a short train ride from Union Station in St. Louis.
