Description
Like summer tempest came her tears--
'Sweet my child, I live for thee.'
From the poem Home They Brought Her Warrior Dead by Alfred Lord Tennyson
This another from my Mother and Child series. The nursing lamb and the mother ewe first inspired this series of pictures. I have edited and reedited this picture since I shot it. I feel this is as strong an image as I have gotten from it.
Please feel free to share the picture on this page and any of my other photos with friends, family and associates.

Beautiful photo - they look like the Suffolk sheep that we use to raise. Very sweet mother and babe. v
Cheri Randolph
William, the portrayal of maternal love is always heartwarming. I especially appreciate the wonderful textures that you have coaxed from this shot. The wooly coat of the ewe and the crisp, dry straw have such a tactile appearance. Well done! voted
William Fields replied:
Thanks Cheri. I am constantly drawn to the love of a mother for a child. It's something that there is just too little of. When I hear about someone hurting their child I'm stunned into grief. The sheep of course are a metaphor for this same kind of human love.

Nice work! v
William Fields replied:
Thank you Kate, this is another from the archives that I've done countless versions of. This one feels strong.
