As the temperatures reached upward
Out of the teens and into the twenties
Bits of frost loosened from the trees
And fell on me like snow.
At first I thought it was snow
But then realized that I was
Stricken by the injustice of the skies.

The harshness of winter is always felt the most with the onset of cold weather. It shocks the system and brings the reality of the season to our consciousness like a slap in the face. We are Stricken by the Injustice of the Skies.
