Description
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.
Henceforth I ask not good-fortune I myself am good fortune;
Henceforth I whimper no more, postpone no more, need nothing,
Strong and content, I travel the open road.
From The Song of the Open Road by Walt Whitman

What a beautiful scene - love the coloring. v
William Fields replied:
Thanks Marcia, lately I have tended to desaturate the color in most of my pictures. I find that toning the color down often allows the picture to speak more for itself. It's not quite monochromatic but it has a similar effect.

how i feel before my trips...the road before me, the adventure. V
William Fields replied:
Isn't that it Joan? I love the feeling of getting in the car and anticipating what will be next. I often like to play Beethoven's Piano Concerto #5 as I start out or especially when driving through picturesque countryside. Thanks very much

Such amazing golden colors going with all the rest. There is so much texture and the light effects are just wonderful! F/V/tweeted

William, 'Uncle Walt' would surely enjoy riding along with you on this adventure! I especially appreciate the converging lines in this composition, and the lure of that glow on the distant horizon. voted
William Fields replied:
Thanks very much Cheri. I'm betting he'd be happy to have you along for the ride as well; )
