Artist's Description

I was coming home last night and saw this boat tied up on the riverfront as I crossed the Missouri River bridge into Hermann. I called Louise and told her I was going to be a little bit late. I shot about 20 frames and could have kept on shooting into the night. When I got home, I struggled to choose just one. I worked on this one until midnight when I finally gave up for the evening.

The thing that can't be fully appreciated is that it was one of those rare perfect nights that come along only so many times in a person’s lifetime. The air was warm with the lightest breeze. Humidity was low. There were lovers and friends gathered along the river to enjoy it all. One of our local officers had come down to the landing. I chatted with him while continuing to click off images. He told me about his motorcycle while smoked cigarettes. He was interested in the camera. He shared that he too enjoyed taking pictures. The conversation was just drivel but in that environment with that won...
