Description
The Lakeside Inn, has a long row of rocking chairs on the front porch. On this foggy morning, it seemed like a great place to be wrapped up and enjoying atmosphere. Lakeside, Michigan is on the shore of Lake Michigan in the Western part of the State. On clear days, one can see Chicago off in the distance, but most of the time the big lake looks like an ocean. There are surfable waves and there are diurnal tides. All along the Western shore, there are resorts, some new and some that have been there for generations. The Lakeside Inn is one of those historic places. It began as a cabin in the 1890s and was owned by a long line of characters including one who was with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and another who was suspected of the attempted murder of his wife. There are those who believe her ghost haunts the inn today.
