Description
The snow only adds to the feelings of loss and what might have been. The old place is on the road between Hatch and Panguitch, Utah. A blizzard was howling when I stopped by the side of the road to get this picture. A Highway Patrol officer stopped to see if all was well. I held up my hands gesturing as if shooting pictures. He smiled, nodded and drove away. I got back into my warm car and sat there for some time, thinking about the people who lived here and what their lives might have been like. Were they immigrants from another land or were they displaced Americans who tried to start a new life in the West? They tried and they lost. This is what remains to tell their story.
All of my works are fine art photographs. The Fine Art America algorithms do not allow photos to be sold as original art so in order to offer the original piece, my work must be listed as digital art. My work offered as "original' means that I will not sell the image to anyone else. The purchaser is guaranteed a one of a kind image which can only be acquired through direct contact with me. The art photo is printed using the highest quality materials available today and is certified to be one of a kind. There are a number of factors that separate the work from production or giclee prints. I personally supervise the printing and control the source material. You are guaranteed a unique work of art.
I deeply and humbly appreciate all the kind words and support I receive about my work. The greatest compliment you can pay me is to share my work with others. Please share it on Facebook, on Twitter and other social media. Or, just send the url to a friend or family member who might enjoy seeing it in an email. Spread the word to any and all that you think will find what I do interesting and appealing.
Please contact me by email to order my recently published Acclaim Press book, Hermann, Missouri, One of the Prettiest Towns in America.
Watch my postings for announcements on two other photo books that are in the works.
The Fine Art America Watermark will not appear on any products purchased.
Thanks to all of you who have become my friends and family through this strange thing we're doing. I feel as if I've truly grown as a person through my interactions with each of you. I learn something each time I see the pictures that each of you have created. I truly appreciate the support and good cheer that you have provided through our community. Thank you, each and every one of you.

William, I have not seen your work in quite awhile. This image I see was posted a couple years ago. Always taken by your creativity, this is a perfect example! L/f

Deeply beautiful ... so mysterious ... such a sense of silence and quiet ... as if the world knows these are hard times but ... if we just wait this one out, all will be well. Absolutely love the rich color in the sky and the simplicity of the farm scene below. Very imaginative ... very creative!!!! l/f and t

Places like this also make me thinking about people who used to live there. Wonderful capture and processing!
