Description
Navajo tradition places the home of Spider Woman on this spire. It was she who wove the web of the universe and whose captured dew drops became the stars in the night sky.
The Spider Woman is described as a benevolent goddess who granted gifts and useful skills such as weaving to the Din, or, as they are commonly known, the Navajo. She also helped legendary Navajo heroes in their quests. She is the Earth Mother figure of Navajo mythology.
Once the creatures of the First World reached Earth, the Spider Man decided to create the lifeless forms of all of the living things we see today. However, he did not know how to give them life. So the Spider Woman spun a great web, and connected each of the strands to each form her husband had created. When the strand connected to each figure, it granted them life. The connection between all life and her web represents human's relationship with the Earth.
All of my works are fine art photographs. The Fine Art America algorithms do not allow photos to be sold as original art so in order to offer the original piece, my work must be listed as digital art. My work offered as "original' means that I will not sell the image to anyone else. The purchaser is guaranteed a one of a kind image which can only be acquired through direct contact with me. The art photo is printed using the highest quality materials available today and is certified to be one of a kind. There are a number of factors that separate the work from production or giclee prints. I personally supervise the printing and control the source material. You are guaranteed a unique work of art.
I deeply and humbly appreciate all the kind words and support I receive about my work. The greatest compliment you can pay me is to share my work with others. Please share it on Facebook, on Twitter and other social media. Or, just send the url to a friend or family member who might enjoy seeing it in an email. Spread the word to any and all that you think will find what I do interesting and appealing.
Please contact me by email to order my recently published Acclaim Press book, Hermann, Missouri, One of the Prettiest Towns in America.
