Description
Goose, Goose, Goose,
Neck arching, it sings with head up,
White feathers floating on green waters,
Red feet paddling beneath blue ripples.
Against the mountains sets the white sun,
Towards the sea flows the Yellow River.
To see as far as your eyes can reach,
You need to ascend a little higher.
From a classic Chinese poem of the Tang Period (618-907)
I knew an old wife lean and poor,
Her rags scarce held together;
There strode a stranger to the door,
And it was windy weather.
He held a goose upon his arm,
He utter'd rhyme and reason,
"Here, take the goose, and keep you warm,
It is a stormy season."
She caught the white goose by the leg,
A goose--'twas no great matter.
The goose let fall a golden egg
With cackle and with clatter.
From the poem The Goose by Alfred Lord Tennyson
"Let us stay beside each other no matter what the differences." Unknown
When I took this picture, I was sitting among these honking, creatures and quite covered with their noise and feathers. The main character in this pictorial story is a goose that had more to say than any of the others.
These geese are raised for meat on Sassafras Valley Farm in Morrison, Missouri. For more information go to: http://www.sassafrasvalleyfarm.com/

I don't thank those who have featured my work often enough. I just want to thank Best of the Best Photography and Stop Time with Art for the recent features on this piece. It means a lot to me and I sincerely appreciate the acknowledgement.
