Description
After a night of sleet, our woods were coated in silvery ice. The sun shining the next morning lit up the trees as if it were Christmas again. As I walked through the forest the only sound was of my shoes crunching the newly glazed leaves and there was a stillness that was spiritual. I am a skier in large part because I crave the solitude of winter. It is a blessing in my life that I have been on mountaintops virtually alone looking off into the vast expanse of the earth and that I have had moments like this standing in a forest listening to nothing. For me, this is truly the icing on the cake.
