Love the contrast of light and dark! IR was my 1st love and I see in your description you converted a film camera. Curious as to what film you use with it? L&F

William Fields replied:

Thanks very much Jim! Hah! The Fujifilm X-E1 is a mirrorless, digital SLR. The IR conversion is the removal of the IR filter from the sensor. I chose a 680 nm conversion to get a bit of color in my results. This typically is a range of sepias and blues. Happy to answer any questions on this.

Artist's Description

We had been to Royal Gorge at sunrise and on the way back a series of storms rolled through. I was able to shoot several shots of the front from a dry distance before being engulfed. This was among my favorites. The photo was shot with my IR converted Fujifilm X-E1 and processed with PSE.

One of a Kind

You can purchase a one of a kind, original print of this image directly from the artist by contacting me via email. The picture is signed and the mat has a hand drawn remarque in graphite. The paper and inks are archival and the printing is done under my direct supervision.

An original print is one on which I have personally supervised the process. It is printed on archival paper using archival inks. I hand sign the piece and draw a remarque on the mat that in some way reflects the original image. This small original drawing adds aesthetic interest as well as value to the print. In the case of Canon City Storm I might draw a leaf with raindrop...
