Description

The Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York is an Italian, neighborhood restaurant where Buffalo Wings originated. The story goes that the Dominic Bellisimo was tending bar late one night in 1964 when a bunch of hungry friends stopped in. Dominic asked his mother Teressa to fix something and the cupboard was bare, more or less. Chicken wings were usually saved for the stock pot so she had some of them. She deep fried them and coated them with a sauce made with blend of Cayenne pepper, vinegar, salt, garlic, margarine and other "secret ingredients". And the rest, as they say, is history.
