After the ball is over,
After the break of morn -
After the dancers' leaving;
After the stars are gone;
Many a heart is aching,
If you could read them all;
Many the hopes that have vanished
After the ball.
From the song After the Ball written by Charles K. Harris in 1891. In its time the song was considered a hit based on sheet music sales. In 1892 it sold 2 million copies of sheet music! The song was later featured in the musical Showboat.

JOHN TELFER
William, Fantastic photo with such great expression of this tired gentleman after the ball. Great details captured in the way the man is holding his face and even in the fabric of the couch. Remarkable colors that you have captured from the jacket on the man to the fabric on the couch and the gentleman's white hair. Excellent photo, right down to the dancer's wrinkled far head, voted, google, tweet and FB promoted
