Artist's Description

The Royal Gorge in the Grand Canyon of the Arkansas took millions of years to wear away the granite that forms its walls. The Ute people spent winters here because of the protection the gorge provided from winter storms and the mild climate. Today it is a tourist destination with a bridge that was the highest in the world until just recently when a bridge was erected in China that is a bit higher.
