Description

Even men who pray for forgiveness and healing wish death on the dastardly rascal whose icy grip seems to never relinquish. Each teasing breath of warmth that comes in March or April can be negated in an instant by the death rail of winter. I have been humbled by the final thrust of the razor sharp, snow laden stiletto that pierces my balm craving heart. At a point when I would give almost anything for a promise of new birth and the ability to sleep with just a sheet for my covers this monster lingers gifting us with nightmares of a spring that cannot seem to start and a winter that cannot seem to depart. But, there is an end of one and a beginning to the other. The earth will drink the final snow and spring beauties will burst from forest floors. Mushrooms push out of the soil and nightcrawlers as long as my forearm will grace my hook and tempt a black crappie off the banks and into my skillet. There is an end to Winter.
