Description

I constantly return to the splendid bottom land of the Missouri River near where I live. What is not dedicated to planting is trimmed in hardwoods and meandering creeks where deer drink and great fish and turtles swim. In his later years, Daniel Boone and a slave (possibly named David, who was a member of Boone�s household) spent many days hunting and trapping together along the Loutre River (French for Otter) near Hermann. The river is not visible in this scene, but it is just beyond the trees to the left.
