Description
There's a valley, under oakwood, where a man may dream his dream,
In the milky breath of cattle laid at ease,
Till the moon o'ertops the alders, and her image chills the stream,
And the river-mist runs silver round their knees!
Now the footpaths fade and vanish; now the ferny clumps deceive;
Now the hedgerow-folk possess their fields anew;
Now the Herd is lost in darkness, and I bless them as I leave,
My Sussex Cattle feeding in the dew!
From the poem Alnaschar and the Oxen by Rudyard Kipling
The cattle are feeding from hay that has been set out for them in the bleakness of January. Framed by the oak and hickory trees of our Missouri native hardwood forests they are surely laid at ease. In this image I have combined HDR technique on the trees and the remainder of the picture as it came from the camera. I find the layering of these two processes visually exciting and more the way the human eye perceives than either process by itself.

Great image, I like your combined processing! f/v
William Fields replied:
Thanks Kate, I was wondering if it worked or not. I liked it but was waiting to see how others reacted. It isn't that big a deal but it is a departure for me.

William,as usual you have created a fine piece,I love the perspective of looking through the trees at the cattle,voted
William Fields replied:
Thank you Camille. I appreciate your kindness and support. This one was a bit of a departure in the way I handled the processing. I'm pleased that you and others are responding positively. Thank you again.
