Description
Ventana is Spanish for window. The Chaco Culture Historical Park in Northwestern New Mexico is one of the most stunning architectural ruin sites in the Americas. It is largely overlooked because it so off the beaten path as to make it considered too inaccessible for most casual tourists. It is 21 miles from New Mexico Highway 550. The route includes 8 miles of paved road on CR 7900 and CR7950, 13 miles of rough dirt road on CR7950, followed by the last very rough 4 1/2 miles of rutted unpaved road before entering the park. But, oh my, is it ever worth it! There are a number of ruins and extensive petroglyphs. The largest ruins are Pueblo Bonito and Pueblo Arroyo. My photograph is in Pueblo Arroyo. I was intrigued by the geometry of the place coupled with the geometric pattern created by the cast shadow and finally the repeated forms within the window itself.
All of my works are fine art photographs. The Fine Art America algorithms do not allow photos to be sold as original art so in order to offer the original piece, my work must be listed as digital art. My work offered as "original' means that I will not sell the image to anyone else. The purchaser is guaranteed a one of a kind image which can only be acquired through direct contact with me. The art photo is printed using the highest quality materials available today and is certified to be one of a kind. There are a number of factors that separate the work from production or giclee prints. I personally supervise the printing and control the source material. You are guaranteed a unique work of art.
I deeply and humbly appreciate all the kind words and support I receive about my work. The greatest compliment you can pay me is to share my work with others. Please share it on Facebook, on Twitter and other social media. Or, just send the url to a friend or family member who might enjoy seeing it in an email. Spread the word to any and all that you think will find what I do interesting and appealing.
Please contact me by email to order my recently published Acclaim Press book, Hermann, Missouri, One of the Prettiest Towns in America.
Watch my postings for announcements on two other photo books that are in the works including one that will contain Infrared images of the Southwestern U.S.
The Fine Art America Watermark will not appear on any products purchased.
